Greetings from Origins!

I finally found my way to an Internet terminal in a little cafe at the hotel. This is the official first day of the convention, and my feet are damn sore. I've been walking the vendor hall and spending copious amounts of money all morning (it's just before 2:00 as I start to write this).

To Logan: I got your entire Volcano set, dude -- enough Treehouse sets to play any pyramids game, the book, the Volcano caps and even the board. Of all places, it was the Paizo booth that was selling them. Bizarre, but at least I found everything -- and in one place. You won't like the price, but hopefully you'll like the stuff. ;)

To Jacquie: I hope you got my phone message from last night. Things are going well. I'm fairly tired, but I'm having a good time.

Last night, a bunch of us TABS people went up to the CABS (Columbus Area Boardgaming Society) board/war rooms to look around, sit down, chat and play some games. I had a chance to try Nexus Ops, which really wasn't spectacular. It was fun to play once, but there's really not much to it. I can see why Hasbro was trying to offload the game during National Games Week last November.

This morning, a few of us had breakfast together and then headed off to wait for the vendor hall to open. At 10:00, the doors open and there was a mass rush for the doors. Thankfully, most people were heading to the WizKids booth to grab any con exclusives or freebies. Me, I went up and down the rows for hours, browsing, buying the odd thing (like some RPG books) and even jumping into a demo of the City of Heroes CCG (they let me take two packs away from the demo, so I can show any of you guys at home if you're interested in checking it out -- and I think it's actually pretty good).

After I'm finished here, I'll probably go grab a beer somewhere (there's a nice microbrewery right across the street from the Columbus Convention Centre ... er ... Center). They have a great stout on tap. Yummy. Once I've got some liquid bread into my system, I'll probably go back to the vendors room and try to get into some game demos. There were a handful of games I saw being demoed that I'd like to try out.

Anyway, I'm off. I'll jump on again later on.

Comments:
To Chris: Aye I picked up the FFG order from the Post Office. Everything is there and accounted for and customs didn't hit us up for more than $10.00 or so.

The books are all in mint condition and none of them were so much as scuffed during shipping.

It better not be "copious amounts" of money! :P

Good to hear the FFG order is there and ready to be accounted for. ;)
