Origins: Day two

Stupid vendors hall. It costs me. It costs me so much.

Actually, I've found a few deals in the hall. One booth was selling off a whole shitload of RPG books for $3 apiece or two for $5. I ended up with a copy of Cartoon Action Hour (which I've wanted to check out for quite awhile) and Big Eyes, Small Mouth, 2nd Edition. Funny thing is, I seem to recall that someone I know wanted a copy of BESM 2E (Logan, was it you?). I figure I'll go back to that booth today and grab another copy of BESM just in case. Worst case scenario is I have a second copy of the book. No big deal.

It took me nearly four hours yesterday to get through the vendor hall, and then I ended up going back through it later on in the day. I bought a bunch of things, of course, but I also ended up helping out Art at L2 for a short while (just watching his booth while he got some exercise).

I chatted with a bunch of people ... and ended up gaming with a few of them in the evening. I doubt Dave M. reads this, but if he does: Hey, man, I got a chance to play both Maharaja and Caylus. :)

I think I wasted the Indie RPG Revolution (gotta check on that name; I don't think I have it quite right -- they sell indie RPGs, at any rate) guy's time for too long. The company's booth was showing off and selling several indie games, and I swear I grilled him for half an hour on the various games. In the end, I walked away with a copy of The Shadow of Yesterday (look it up; I've heard about it for the last year or so, and it sounds kind of neat). I'll probably swing by there again today and pick up another book or two.

I also found out that Looney Labs is definitely running late-night Werewolf games. I didn't find this out until after I'd spent all night playing board games, of course. I'd heard they were running Werewolf, but I had no idea where. Now I know. Guess what I'm planning to do tonight.

I'm going to finish my coffee and muffin and then head over to the con for the day. I'll check back in later on.

Comments:
To Chris: Yes it was me who was after a copy of the BESM 2nd ED book before it went D20.

You are still spending copious amounts of money!

It turns out that was just a Thursday deal. When I went back on Friday, I couldn't get it for the same price. But you can have the copy I picked up. I only grabbed it because I wanted CAH, anyway. ;)
