What is it with companies that send people around the neighbourhood and tell them to ask to see the occupants' bills for, say, electricity costs? Why do these people think I'm going to show them something that's absolutely none of their damn business?

I've often wondered this. I've even had my own company come knocking on my door. If they don't know what the hell I'm paying then why do I bother to send them cheques?
