Beer In Canada #13: Rosewood Estates 2006 Grand Reserve Ambrosia

Highlights from my July 4th, 2010 brew day

The return of brewing

As I’ve outlined in the upcoming issue of the CABA Times, I took all of 2009 off from brewing. Lifestyle changes and other interests got in the way, and before I knew it, it was a year-and-a-half since I’d last boiled wort and pitched yeast. Now I’m back at it, and part of the fun of returning to the hobby is that I’m dragging others along with me.

The first two beers I’ve brewed this year have had me in the assistant homebrewer’s position, helping my wargaming buddy Will get up to speed on the details and processes of brewing at home. This afternoon, though, I’ll be brewing my first beer since December 2008. Expect photos and (hopefully) videos of the brew day soon.

I’ve missed brewing, and I’m very glad to be back at it. I’m even happier to have found others that are interested in learning how to brew beer and make mead (the meadmaking day will be soon; it’s been almost two years since I made a mead).
